Further contributions came from thermal power plants using biomass (wood, biogas) and non-renewable thermal plants (gas and oil power plants) with 1.8 TWh (5%), as well as from photovoltaics with 1.4 TWh (3.9%) and wind energy with 0.1 TWh (0.3%). The shares of the individual technologies in winter electricity production are subject to annual fluctuations – influenced by predictable factors (e.g., maintenance work) as well as unpredictable influences (e.g., weather conditions or technical failures). In addition, there is a clear growth trend in solar and wind energy in recent years. On average for the winter half-years 2020–2024, the following average production structure results:
