• ↳ Oliver Herren (2025-12-14): From my perspective, meritocratic order means that the performance of the individual counts, and not primarily descent and inheritance. The accumulation of wealth over generations is a characteristic of aristocracies. Meritocracy (from Latin meritus = deserved) refers to a social system in which social advancement and the distribution of offices and wealth are primarily determined by individual performance, abilities, and talent, and not by origin, family relationships, or inherited wealth.
