Voluntary Public Preschool from the First Year of Life. — Problem
Problem
A longer exit from working life makes it harder for parents to keep up with the rapid developments in the labor market – their expertise loses relevance, and their economic potential remains unused.
Discussion
- Thierry Rietsch (2026-06-03): From my personal point of view, I see a problem in society: people do not continue to educate themselves personally. I currently perceive the situation in such a way that many people see it purely as the responsibility of an employer to ensure that further education takes place. In my opinion, the decision to leave the workforce for a longer period is a personal decision. I myself live in Baden, and here there are, on the one hand, subsidies for childcare so that one does not have to stay away from the labor market. At the same time, it is also possible to invest in personal further education during a chosen longer working period. However, this requires initiative and personal commitment.
